Alethea Raban, who graduated with a BA in Drama in 2014, has published an article in Canadian Theatre Review recording her conversations with Saskatoon playwright Madeleine Dahlem-Blais.
The conversation was instigated after Dr Kim Solga hosted a Skype chat with the playwright for her DRA254: Theatre and Performance in North America module which Alethea was studying.
The seminar-based Skype chat led Alethea to independently contact Madeleine to further discuss one of her works, sTain/La Maculee. The conversation expanded to consider wider issues of exchange and communication. The article included drawings Alethea produced, inspired by Madeleine's latest work, The Art of French Cooking.
The article, 'An Archive of Encounter: Travels beyond Borders with Madeleine Blais-Dahlem', was published in Canadian Theatre Review, 159 (2014). It is available via Project Muse to members of subscribing institutions. More information about Alethea's work can be found here.
