Professors Jen Harvie and Lois Weaver are collaborating on a major publication dedicated to the life and work of Lois Weaver, one of the 20th and 21st centuries most important feminist and lesbian performance makers.
The book, provisionally titled The Only Way Home is Through the Show: The Performance Work of Lois Weaver will provide an indepth insight into Lois's performance personae, her methods of making performance, her strategies of leading and facilitating, and her explorations of the role of the femme. The book will have a range of contributors and will be illustrated throughout with archive images.
A Kickstarter has been launched to help with the production of the book and to ensure it is a fitting record of the life and work of Lois. A range of rewards are offered, including Tammy WhyNot magnets and badges, signed photos, DVDs, CDs, and opportunities to go to dinner Tammy and Lois.
