Monday 21 July 2014
On the 15th and 16th July 2014, the Sun shone down on our students graduating from SED's single- and joint-honours programmes.
Friends, family members, and SED staff gathered in the Great Hall to celebrate the success of our graduating students. Also in attendance were Sir Nicholas Lionel John Montagu KCB, Chairman of the Council at QMUL, and Simon Gaskell, our Principal and President.
Sir Nicholas opened the session, praising our students for their achievements and reminding them that they will look back on their time at QMUL as a golden age. Simon reinforced the message, stressing the vast array of opportunities available to students graduating from a Russell Group university.
Undergraduate and postgraduate research students then processed across the stage to be congratulated by Simon and Professor Markman Ellis, Head of the School of English and Drama.
The graduation was followed by a wine reception in Queen Mary's Octagon.
The School sends their warmest congratulations to all our graduates.
Several graduating students were recipients of College and School prizes in recognition of academic achievement and contribution to the life of the School. These prizes included:
The Sylvia Perry Prize (for general contribution to the School, support of peers, etc.):
