The Department of Drama is delighted to offer one AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award with the Victoria & Albert Museum for 2013 entry. The deadline for applications has now passed.
This Award offers an exciting opportunity to pursue a fully funded PhD in the Department of Drama with one of the world's foremost museums.
The project will examine the background, establishment and development of the World Theatre Season (held annually at the Royal Shakespeare Company's Aldwych Theatre between 1964 to 1973) and its impact on British performance culture. A key aspect of the project is assessing the influence the work had on British directors and designers and the changes it led to in scenographic practice, particularly the importance of African and Latin-American companies and practitioners in the field.
