School of English and Drama appoints Pamela Clemit as Professor of English
The School of English and Drama is delighted to announce a significant new professorial appointment: Pamela Clemit will be joining the English Department as Professor of English.

Pamela is the author of The Godwinian Novel and has published a dozen or so scholarly and classroom editions of William Godwin's and Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's writings. She is the General Editor of the acclaimed Oxford University Press edition of Godwin's letters, which is being published in six volumes. She has held a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship, and has been a Visiting Fellow at the New York Public Library, All Souls College, Oxford, and Wadham College, Oxford. She received her doctorate from the University of Oxford, where she also took her B.A. and M. Phil. At Queen Mary, she joins a highly regarded group of scholars of Romanticism, including Paul Hamilton, David Duff (from January 2016), John Barrell, Barbara Taylor, Shahidha Bari, James Vigus, and Matthew Mauger.
