New MA Pathway in Postcolonial and Global Literatures Launched
We are delighted to announce that applications are now open for our new MA Pathway in Postcolonial and Global Literatures.
17 March 2015
This Pathway has been specially designed to harness our considerable research strengths in this area in order to deepen students’ understanding of a range of postcolonial literatures, in English and in translation. The Pathway offers the unique opportunity to reflect on literatures in postcolonial and global contexts, while studying in the heart of London’s East End with its rich history of migration.
Responding to its launch, Dr Rachael Gilmour, the pathway convenor, said “I am really delighted that this Pathway is now open to students. Colleagues at Queen Mary are doing ground-breaking work in this field and we look forward to bringing this research into the classroom to stimulate discussion and debate. We have an exciting range of modules – allowing students to explore literatures from the Caribbean, Africa, South Asia and its diasporas, and from the East End of London. This variety will give students a greater understanding of how contemporary issues surrounding immigration are refracted in literature and will serve as a perfect grounding for further study.”
