Lois Weaver's Split Britches profiled at LaMaMa, New York
In January 2014, LaMama in New York is home to two special events marking the groundbreaking work of Split Britches, co-founded by Lois Weaver.
2 January 2014
An irreverent exhibition of Split Britches archival material running from the 3rd to the 19th of January at LaMama La Galleria: http://lamama.org/lagalleria/desperate-archives.
In this exhibition, Peggy Shaw and Lois Weaver of Split Britches re-purpose their own archival material from the last 20 years of work to explore the issues of having, holding, and letting go.
Ruff, co-written and directed by Lois Weaver, is a performance piece starring Peggy Shaw which runs from the 9th to the 26th of January 2014 at the LaMaMa First Floor Theatre: http://lamama.org/category/first-floor-theatre/.
In the show, Shaw throws off the stigma of age and embraces the joy—and necessity—of creating new work, post-stroke.
