The fifth edition of QS World University Rankings by Subject found that several subject areas at QMUL rank among the world’s best. English joins Law (45) and History (46) in the top 50. Geography, Linguistics, and Medicine at QMUL are placed in the top 51-100.
According to Professor Morag Shiach, Vice-Principal (Humanities and Social Sciences): “The results provide further evidence of QMUL’s status as a world-leading research-active university. It’s particularly gratifying to see three disciplines from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in the top 50. This is a testament to the commitment, talent and hard work of colleagues across the faculty.”
The QS World University Rankings by Subject is considered to be among the most trusted of league tables. Rankings are based on academic and employer reputations and research citations per faculty (the number of times the research is credited in the work of other academics). The rankings reveal that QMUL's English department remains committed both to the highest standards of research, while also ensuring the prospects for our undergraduate and postgraduate students are excellent.
