Drama are looking to appoint one permanent and one fixed term (12 months) Lecturer in Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies [The deadline for applications has now passed].

Queen Mary's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is embarking on the latest phase of strategic investment to recruit excellent researchers and teachers who can contribute to the achievement of its ambitious and exciting plans.

Drama seeks to appoint two Lecturers in Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies (1 permanent post, 1 12 month fixed term contract). We expect these colleagues to be able to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Drama through a variety of modes (e.g. in seminar-based and practice-based contexts). We also expect these colleagues to be developing a high-quality research programme in theatre and performance studies that will contribute effectively to the achievement of Drama's research aims. Applications from outstanding candidates working in any area of theatre and performance studies are invited. 

The posts are full time, starting from 1 September 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter. Starting salary for the permanent post will be on the Academic and Education Grade 5 scale in the range of £38,579 - £41,890 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Starting salary for the 12-month post will be on the Academic and Education Grade 5 scale at £38,579 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
